CARL GUSTAV JUNG (1875 – 1961)
Famous Swiss psychologist and psychiatrist who, along with Sigmund Freud, pioneered the study of the mind during the early twentieth century. Jung was unusual as a scholar because he made a serious attempt to understand the history and nature of alchemy and to look in detail at esoteric symbolism. His writings have helped to promote a better understanding of the esoteric arts and their cultural significance within Western European culture.
