CLASSICAL AGE

The Classical Age refers to a period of history beginning in ancient Greece during the Persian Wars (490 – 479 BCE) and ending with the conquests of Alexander of Macedonia (323 BCE). This age was characterised by distinctive forms of architecture, literature, art and philosophy which subsequently had a profound influence on the Roman period that followed. The Classical Age has influenced Western European civilization since the Renaissance (rebirth) of classical culture from the 14th century onwards.
